Disease Prevention and Treatment

We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases. Rotary members have hundreds of health projects underway around the world at any given time.

Rotarians giving polio immunization drops to school children in Pakistan
Pakistan and Afghanistan are still Polio endemic countries. Rotarians from all over the world travel to affected countries to participate in a National Immunization Day. Millions of children are vaccinated every year thanks to the fundraising and life saving work of Rotarians.

Peace and Conflict Resolution

By carrying out service projects and supporting peace fellowships and scholarships, our members take action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.

Clean Water and Sanitation

When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.

Maternal and Child Health

Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.

Rotarians from many clubs provide health care clinics in developing countries and in remote areas of the world that do not have access to regular health care.

Basic Education and Literacy

One of Rotary's main goals is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults.

The Rotary Club of Middleton provides awards to high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education, entrance awards to students entering NSCC Annapolis Valley Campus' 2 locations (Middleton and Lawrencetown), donates bicycle helmets to elementary school students, supports youth at risk, and more.

Economic and Community Development

We create opportunities to help individuals and communities thrive financially and socially.

Supporting the Environment

We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment.
